Simargl is a deity or mythical creature in East Slavic mythology.

However, professors are all agree this was a flying dog or half bird-half dog and it had a strong connection with the nature.

Naturally there are lot of different theory about this creature’s function and history: it was an ambassador between celestial world and earthly world; it was a companion of aquatic nymphs and –spirits, they kept alive the fields; it had to protect seeds, roots and vegetation so it lived under the Yggdrasil – it is an immense and central sacred tree.

Habár a professzorok abban egyetértenek, hogy repülő kutyáról vagy fél madár-fél kutyáról van szó, aki szoros kapcsolatban áll a természettel.

Ugyanakkor eredetéről, történetéről, feladatairól és funkciójáról erősen megoszlanak a vélemények: hírnök volt az égi- és a földi világ között; a vízi nimfákkal és -szellemekkel közösen tartották életben a földeket; a magok, gyökerek és növényzet őrzője volt, így nagy valószínűséggel a Yggdrasil alatt lakott – hatalmas, központi szent fa.

My new art is full with natural materials as usual. The basic is an old, damaged bamboo blind. I also used runner plant, thuja leaves and a smaller part of bush that is the body of the Simargl. Next to the ordinary yarns and household stuff. To make this 3D wallpicture I crocheted with fishing lines although I mostly woven, knotted and macramé.

/ Az új alkotásom is tele van természetes alapanyagokkal. Az alapot egy régi, megrongálódott bambusz roló adja. Használtam futónövényt, tuja leveleket, egy bokor kisebb részét, ami Simargl testét adja, a szokásos fonalak és háztartási cuccok mellett. A szövésen, csomózáson, makramézáson túl, horgászdamillal horgolt felületek is találhatóak a 3D faliképen.
