Upholstery: Férc chair / Férc szék + extra

The Hungarian Museum of Ethnographic had a fantastic art call for proposal, called Férc. They offered amazing handmade fabrics for creative projects.

We had to send plans for the first round. By that time, I had already bought a uniquely shaped chair, handmade in Germany, from the Facebook market, which I wanted to refurbish. I felt that the two things fit together very well.

Fortunetly, it got the green light, so I had to bring my idea to life in the second round.

Take apart / Bontás

Bulid Up/ Építés

There were so many great fabrics, so I picked more than one. Finally I got this huge handwoven rug which actually consisted of two pieces. I had to clean it, than carefully took it apart to the right size. In the meantime, I remade the wooden frame with matching colour and the entire seating surface as well

At the end, I completed the fabric with hand-woven parts. Now I waiting for the result.

EXTRA

Even after handing over the chair, the enthusiasm remained in me. In addition, I had quite a lot of fabric left over. I chose a narrow part, with the edge of which, due to a large tear, I definitely had to do something, and I made a seat cover from it, with a hand-woven part.
